Amateur Radio Training Courses

The West Kent ARS provides training courses and has registered centres for conducting exams at each of the levels; Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced for those candidates wanting to study for an amateur radio licence.

Since the start of 2012 the club has conducted seven Foundation courses, helping 41 candidates obtain their Foundation licence, and have successfully tutored fifteen candidates through two Intermediate courses and onto gaining their 2E0 callsigns, which permits them higher power and greater privileges.

Following the interest of some Intermediate licensed members and other locals in obtaining their Full licence, the West Kent ARS developed a short two day course which it ran in April 2013, designed to augment self study that resulted in seven local candidates obtaining their Full M0 licences in May 2013.

Current details regarding training for each of the licence levels can be found under the left hand menu. However, anyone with a query regarding training or the exam program should email training@wkars.org.uk for more details.

West Kent ARS is also now a member of the South East Tutors training group, which co-ordinates training among clubs in South London and North/West Kent, so that candidates can plan their courses ahead with scheduled dates. Details of the current training time table can be found here.
